In Honor of Mom

This is the first Mother's Day without my Mom, and when I first realized I couldn't send a card to her this year for Mother's Day it broke my heart in two. My Mom loved to give and receive cards like no one I've ever known. She was always sending out a card... even just to say she was thinking of me. I didn't realize just how special those cards were until I didn't receive them any longer.

Growing up I used to love to make my own cards, and Mom was always so amazed at my card making abilities. But once I got busy with school, kids... life, I stopped making them. I was trying to decide how I could honor Mom this year, and I decided I'd make her a card. It makes me so sad to know that she isn't home to receive the card, but I knew she would absolutely love it.

So this year I want to honor my Mom, who I love and miss more than words can say... who has left a huge hole in my heart, but has also filled it with a legacy of love and hope. I know some day we will meet again in Heaven, and I eagerly await that day.

The Boozer Family

I've been working with this family for a couple of weeks to capture them when it's actually NOT raining on a Saturday. Last Saturday we went all day without a drop of rain... but true to Oklahoma weather... just minutes before our scheduled photo shoot it down poured for five minutes. Then the sun peaked out, and we made fast work to catch some decent Oklahoma weather while we could.

The Boozers are so full of laughter and love... they made it a real delight to take pictures of them. Their two beautiful girls... Amanda and Elisa... warmed up to the camera after a few pictures and just took off from there with their charm and energy. You could say they pretty much ran the show.

This is such a fun moment of the girls playing together.

These girls love their Daddy... so special

Momma and her girls... never a dull moment...

I really love this special moment I got between Brandon and Gloria. What you can't see is that the girls were running around in circles in the background while I was taking this shot.

Elisa was having fun hamming it up for the camera with her Daddy's hat.

Amanda was a natural in front of the camera and many times found her own spot to take a picture. All I had to do was follow her around with my camera.

It just cracks me up that I got Elisa glancing back while I was snapping this shot.

Jeannie + Wayne : Wedding

Jeannie & Wayne were married at the First Baptist Church of Moore... which just so happens to be where they first met. It’s really quite a cute story. Jeannie always attended the second Sunday service while Wayne attended the first service... until one fateful day... just before Wayne left the sanctuary after the first service he spotted Jeannie taking a seat several pews ahead of him. That Sunday, he decided to stay through the second service... eyeing her from a distance. For several weeks following he attended both the first and second services... moving up closer to her pew each week. Finally one sunday he sat in the pew directly behind her and introduced himself... to which he was surprised to have her immediately invite him to a new small group and hand him her phone number.

...and the rest is history. A story of two fun-loving and beautiful people who knew what they wanted but had two different ways of attaining it. Ahhhh.... isn’t that what love and marriage is all about? They are certainly in for a very fun and exciting journey together!

What a joy and delight it was to not only meet Jeannie and Wayne, but to spend the day documenting their special day. Their family and friends helped with the cake, flowers and decorations, and it all looked fabulous! The cake was made by Wayne’s mom and decorated by Jeannie’s Aunt Bonnie. It not only looked beautiful, but it was the most delicious cake I have ever eaten. Such amazing talent and love in this fun group of people!

The day began with Jeannie getting prepped and ready:

Jeannie's fun and fancy red shoes:

I love this fun mirror shot taken just after Jeannie's mom helped her get into her dress.

This is just before Wayne saw Jeannie. I love how the sunlight streams in here, capturing the much anticipated moment.

Where Jeannie and Wayne first met:

If you’ve ever seen “27 Dresses” then you’ll get a good laugh out of this... Jeannie & Wayne did not have bridesmaids and groomsmen; however, Jeannie has been a bridesmaid for many of her girlfriends. To add a little fun to the day, she surprised her girlfriends with the bridesmaid dresses that she wore to their weddings. So in the true fashion of “27 Dresses” all the girls dressed up in the bridesmaid dresses and had a very fun photo shoot. I love these pictures and crack up at how animated and dramatic these girls were for the camera... so much fun!

This was such a sweet moment between Jeannie and her parents.

Jeannie with Wayne's mom... very sweet...

I just love the goofy and animated faces in this picture as the bride and groom share a special kiss.

Molly Elizabeth : Newborn

Molly is such a precious little doll... so tiny, yet perfect in every way. She was just 10 days old when these pictures were taken. She's one of four children, but this day was a special day just for "the girls." It was such a treat to capture the wonderful moments of love and happiness shared between mommy and daughters.
